We invite you to “get to know” more about Mark and his insurance industry expertise in our informal Q&A session with him below:

Q-1. Can you please provide a brief summary of your professional experience prior to joining DRC…

 A-1. Mark: My most recent position was with W R Berkley as a Segment Lead for the Specialty Division.  Prior to that I was with Equifax for 15 years when they served the Insurance industry prior to becoming ChoicePoint.  I worked for many years as the VP of Sales for Fiserv Insurance Solutions.  We provided software, services and outsourcing to Life & Health and P&C companies.  Throughout my career I crossed back and forth between operations and sales.
 

Q-2.   How will your experience help you in your role as VP of Sales & Marketing?

A-2. Mark: It is important to realize how our products and services may fit into an organization.  Having spent time with a carrier will allow me to have a better understanding of the companies we work with. My experience in the insurance industry has exposed me to many different lines of business, distribution models, and systems affording me the ability to  provide added value to DRC’s customer base. Being in a position to research and test numerous systems on the market today, I know first hand that there are good solutions out there, and some that are not so good.  CIO’s only have so much time and resources, so being efficient in the insurance system solution selection process is important.  In addition, when it comes to policy administration and rating solutions, creating the “right fit” for a company is so critical in today’s dynamic business environment.

Q-3.  Why did you decide to go with DRC?

A-3. Mark: The culture is great because the people believe in the product.  We are a unique ad competent company with excellent customer references.  It’s easy to be excited about DRC, and I want to help the company grow.

Q-4.  What are 3 words that describe you?

A-4. Mark: Honest, direct, and experienced.  I have always found it easier to deal with difficult situations by just directly communicating.  It’s the only way to move ahead regardless of the issue.  The last word has been a blessing.  I have been able to do so many different things in my career and ultimately that has provided opportunities to work with lots of great people.  I would have never thought that being in the insurance industry would be my career but it’s been a rewarding path. 

Q-5.  What did you do before you got into the insurance industry?

A-5. Mark: I actually started my professional career at Equifax doing claims investigations…so I guess you can say I was born to be in the insurance industry.

Q-6.  Any other thoughts you’d like to add?

A-6. Mark: Thanks, I am just really looking forward to our growth at DRC and visiting with people about our products and services.
